Own vineyard
After finishing an education in biodynamic agriculture, Derrick Neleman began working at a Spanish vineyard. With this experience he started his own wine import business in the Netherlands in 2001. Then in 2014 he established his own organic vineyard close to Valencia, Spain: Bodegas Neleman. Enabling him to both produce and distribute the wine.
Brandstore
The store in Amsterdam opened August 2020. Here you can find the full assortment of Neleman wines, like the Just Fucking Good Wine, their Bike Wines and their Signature series. Naturally, all their wines are Spanish, they offer white, red, rosé as well as sparkling wine. All of them are vegan.
Prices of a bottle of Neleman wine vary between 6 and 35 euro. Their wines are being appreciated by connoisseurs: wine journalist Harold Hamersma awarded their 2019 White ‘Just Fucking Good Wine’ with a 9!
Planting trees
Sustainability is more than just a marketing term for Neleman. Besides their wines being organic and vegan, they are also CO2 neutral – they’re planting trees (near Valencia) for that reason. Other ways in which they are making a change is by recycling cork and transporting their wine as sustainable as possible.
Where to buy
Apart from at their brandstores, Neleman wines are also available at Jumbo, Hema, Odin, Ekoplaza and De Bijenkorf.
