Rethinking fast food
Restaurant concept first started in Hamburg by two young entrepreneurs, since May 2022 also present in Amsterdam. Located in Groningen as well. The name Rå comes from the Danish word for ‘raw’ or ‘unprocessed’, reflecting their core principles of simplicity, health and sustainability. Hence a small menu, where everything is vegan. Their motto is ‘rethinking fast food’.
Teriyaki temptation
On the menu they have six different bowls, each one very loosely inspired by the flavour of a certain country. Reading the menu you can be surprised though, for example the Thai bowl is served with a teriyaki dressing (which is Japanese) but I guess if the end result is delicious it doesn’t matter. All salad bowls are composed of various veggies, grains, proteins, dressing etc. and come in size big or small.
They also offer freshly pressed juices, one based on ginger, one with apple and more, and one containing various green fruits and veggies. For a sweet craving they serve bananabread or brownie.
De Pijp
There is some seating inside as well as a table outside. All dishes are also available for order/take-away.
Rå Bowls is located at the corner of Ferdinand Bolstraat and Ceintuurbaan, across the entrance of metro stop De Pijp.
