Whoohoo vegan quark!

vegan quark

Producer of plant-based dairy products Alpro recently introduced another new product – vegan quark! Although officially called ‘plant-based alternative to quark’ in order not to get sued by evil dairy corporations. They named it Alpro Go On and it’s based on soy. Ideal for yummy desserts or kwarktaart!

In Amsterdam find it at Albert Heijn and Jumbo supermarkets.

Veganz products

At the healthfood section, AH Gelderlandplein

With rumours going back to 2013 there’s still no Veganz in Amsterdam! You know the all vegan supermarket one can find in Berlin and other places in Germany. And nowadays even in Czech Republic and Austria. But a month ago Veganz announced it will have a few of its own products (16 to be precise) in some Albert Heijn supermarkets in the Netherlands. In Amsterdam you can find it at the Albert Heijn at Gelderlandplein (Buitenveldert) and Osdorpplein (Osdorp). Disappointment: not all of the 16 products are being sold – at Gelderlandplein none of their chocolate! Hopefully the assortment will improve eventually.

Is it a test for a possible upcoming store? We’ll keep you updated.

Chocolate-hazelnutspread yay!

In Amsterdam the organic stores usually offer the greatest choice in specific vegan products. Ordinary supermarkets have also a lot to offer, but sometimes you have to know where to find particular products.

Did you know you can find vegan chocolate-hazelnutspread just in the supermarket? The one from brand ‘1 De Beste’ is available in local Dirk van den Broek and Dekamarkt supermarkets. The ‘Markant’ brand is available at Vomar and Coop. The (organic) soy ‘Penotti’ is available at Albert Heijn. Enjoy!
