All vegan place for bubble tea, matcha and many more beverages. Food options include waffles, steamed buns and mochi.
Innovative plant-based
Tea Stories started by Italian expat Lucia Parlanti. Initially she moved to Eindhoven to work at Philips. Not quite happy with her job there she wanted to do something more creative. Inspired after a trip to China (where her husband is from) she decided to open up her own teabar. Mid 2019 she opened Tea Stories in the Strijp S area, Eindhoven.
Everything at Tea Stories is vegan. It aligns with her values of sustainability, inclusivity and health. She’s vegan herself as well. “For me, veganism is not just a diet; it’s a lifestyle rooted in care and respect. By offering a fully vegan menu, we show how exciting, flavorful and innovative plant-based options can be.”
Looking to expand her concept to Amsterdam as well, they ran a successful pop-up in the Jordaan in the first few months of 2024. After that they started to look for a permanent location, which they found at Haarlemmerdijk. Here Tea Stories opened September 2024.
Taro Mochi Waffle
The prime part of their menu is of course their tea selection. With their classics like roasted Oolong milk tea, Japanese chai (hojicha tea with masala chai spices) or their Trinitea (black milk tea with tapioca bubbles and more).
Other teas they have on the menu are matches, teas blended with fruit, sweet options with caramel or syrups. They offer a dazzling amount of options and combinations! For a quick glimpse check out the menu on their website.
If you prefer coffee, don’t worry, they got you covered as well. Besides the usual options they also have special ones like Pistachio Latte or Tiramisu Latte (espresso with milk, vanilla cream and cacao).
They don’t have so much food on the menu. Savoury options are the Bao Burger (with portobello steak) and Miso Eggplant Toast (white bean spread with miso-caramalised eggplant). Sweet options are Mochi Waffles, sweet steamed bao buns (for example with rose flavour) and various mochis.
Upstairs seating
They have various seating at the floor up the stairs. Also some tables outside on the sidewalk. Tea Stories is located at Haarlemmerdijk, near Haarlemmerplein. Easy to walk to from central station / city centre, alternatively there’s a bus stop (bus 18, 21 and 22) at Haarlemmerplein.
Their food is also on delivery platforms. Good to know, the menu in Eindhoven and Amsterdam is identical.
