Vegetarian lunchroom in spiritual centre De Roos. Located on the edge of Vondelpark.
Meditation
Located in a 19th century villa, De Roos exists since 2001 as a general spiritual centre, not one specific direction. They have daily activities such as yoga, meditation, mantra singing, various workshops and lectures. For more info on these check the agenda.
A part of the centre is the ‘Theehuis’, which is open every day of the week. They don’t just serve tea, it’s a modest lunchroom with a 100% vegetarian menu, some dishes are vegan. They use organic ingredients.
Roze koek
On the menu there’s a vegan soup of the day, served with bread and optional hummus. The other vegan food options are beetroot salad and hummus sandwich. Note that these are available from 11:30 am only.
They have some vegan pastry options as well, vegan ‘roze koeken’, bliss balls, oshawa cake and raw cakes from Sharp Sharp.
Besides the usual coffee, tea, juices etc. the drinks menu includes a vegan smoothie. For coffee they have oatmilk as well as soymilk (additional charge).
Sunroom
The lunchroom is situated inside, just after the entrance. Order at the kitchen counter. They have a beautiful terrace overlooking one entrance of the Vondelpark. Also plenty of seating inside in a sunny bright space. More seating upstairs in the spectacular sunroom on the first floor.
On the first floor you’ll find also their store, offering various spiritual books and items.
De Roos is located at the western end of P.C. Hooftstraat, immediately after the entrance of Vondelpark. Close to Museumplein, tram 2, 3, 5 and 12 stop nearby.
