Of course Vegan Junk Food Bar’s Kebabi was the first place dedicated to vegan kebab in Amsterdam. They do a good job, it’s delicious, but the setting is not like a real kebabplace. Helin’s Groente Döner IS a real kebabplace, not fully vegan alas, but they do allow their vegan kebab do be the star on the menu!
They offer the vegan kebab from the brand Green Döner Kebab. It comes in a huge chunk of vegan meat, and gets grilled the same way – vertically – like other döner. Then sliced into thin shavings. Get it in a breadroll, dürüm wrap or like a kapsalon.
Besides the döner they can do many other vegan options as they also have falafel, jacked potato, rice and a large saladbar (hummus, chickpeas, dolma’s etc.).
Helin’s just opened a few weeks ago. You can find them at Linnaeusstraat close to the HEMA.
Green Döner Kebab was previously also available at Vurger aka Vegan Village (restaurant but closed, will start again as foodtruck). If you’ve seen any other place in Amsterdam offering it let us know!
