Vegetarian Italian restaurant with many vegan options. Pastry, sandwiches, pasta, pizza. Open all day, every day of the week.
Casual dining
Vegitalian started in 2020 in Utrecht by a few entrepreneurs in hospitality. Their concept is vegetarian Mediterranean food with a twist, casual dining style. According to their mission statement they want to make it easier to make sustainable choices. In 2022 they opened a second location in Utrecht, then in October 2023 it was time for Amsterdam!
Open all day
On the menu you’ll find many vegan dishes, and a lot of the vegetarian ones can be made vegan as well. Vegitalian is open for breakfast from 09:00 in the morning. Then they offer for example toasted banana bread, overnight oats or yogurt with granola. Later for brunch/lunch they have several toast options (almond butter and fruit compote; avocado smash), a grilled vegan mozarella sandwich, various savoury bowls and pizzas.
The pizzas (e.g. vegan pepperoni; pistachio & rosemary) they also offer during the evening of course. Cheese can be replaced with plant-based mozarella and plant-based scamorza to make it vegan. On the menu they have pastas as well (ravioli, pappardelle and more) and various vegetable based side dishes. For dessert pastry like lemon tartlet, ‘Delizia al Arancello’ or vegan cheesecake. And even vegan tiramisu!
Cosy seating
Vegitalian is a big restaurant with many nice corners to sit. Suitable for big groups. In the front there’s a big table with newspapers. The open kitchen is in the back, where the Italian chefs are rocking the pizza oven all day. Next to there is the cocktail bar area.
Well located in Oud-West at the busy Bilderdijkstraat. Tram stops for tram 3, 7 and 17 nearby.
Besides their two restaurants in Utrecht they are also located in Rotterdam, and have the ambition to open up abroad as well in the future.
Their food is also available for take-away and delivery.
