Vegetarian and organic minimal waste store in De Pijp. They have a deli counter where they offer salads, pastry, coffee and more. Almost everything is vegan.
Culinary traditions
The two owners of Wild Sage met while working at a multinational corporation years ago. Both coming from countries with rich culinary traditions (Greece and Portugal) they are passionate about good food. And even more passionate about cooking and sharing food with others!
In Amsterdam they experienced a difficulty in getting local quality ingredients in a convenient way. At Wild Sage they want to create one space to find all that, as well as bring people with a love for food together.
Azuki bean brownies
The bulkfood section covers all the basics: pulses, nuts, dried fruit, rice, pasta, grains, oil, vinegar, coffee, tea and spices. Even tamari and maple syrup on tap! So bring your own containers or bottles and fill it up. They also have some ‘superfood’ powders like lucuma and moringa.
Another focus of the store are food products from local makers. You’ll find these highlighted in the front of the shop. On the shelves they have for example the condiments from Roots, Rice & Beans and Potverdorie, dried mushrooms from Tuintje van Adam.
In the fridge you will find more local products. Things like vegan cheese (from a.o. Yerba and Rosie & Riffy), sodas and alcoholic kombucha from Leave Your Sword.
They also have a deli section with salads, sweet and savoury pastry and various coffees and teas. Here they are offering different vegan filo pies from Delipie, raw cakes from Holynut and the French-Japanese pastry from Sensai Sweets, like their fudgy brownies with azuki beans!
Communal table
There is some seating at the communal table in the back of the store. Here you’ll find also a shelf with books they’re selling, focused on food and sustainability.
Wild Sage is located at Ceintuurbaan in neighbourhood De Pijp. Very close to Noord-Zuid lijn metrostop ‘De Pijp’, also tram stops nearby. On a stone’s throw distance there’s also vegetarian organic store Odin, and vegan burgerbar Deer Mama nearby in the same street.
