Follow your dreams
A few years ago Willemijn van Wenum said goodbye to her career and started doing what she loved to do most: baking vegan pastry! Starting out with selling cakes to various restaurants, she opened a half year long pop-up store end 2018. A year later she opened her own real location of Willem-Pie in the space of a former bakery, enabling increased production and the possibility of selling it to people directly.
Roze koeken
Although the focus remains on selling cakes to other businesses, there are LOTS of different pastries available in the bakery store. Cinnamon rolls, muffins, cakes, ‘roze koeken’, pralines, chocolate bars, desserts etc., although the product range varies per day. And available from Het Zaanse Bakkertje / Dutch Vegan Bakery are croissants, pain au chocolat etc.
Sloterplas
Willem-Pie is located in Slotervaart, just east of Sloterplas. If you’re coming from the centre on bicycle basically take Kinkerstraat and keep on cycling! This is the first vegan spot in the area, nice that veganism is also spreading geographically in Amsterdam.
